Another Day Hunting Waterfowl in Palo Alto.

Another beautiful day, another invigorating ride around the Baylands Nature Preserve, and another opportunity to shoot some birds. Here are today's trophies.

Here are two beautiful birds I saw while riding my bike around the Palo Alto Baylands this morning. I think the first is a blue heron, and the white one is an egret. If you know what these birds are, please let me know. Thanks!

Three Queens

On Sunday, February 4, 2007, the cruise ship Queen Mary 2 entered San Francisco Bay through the Golden Gate for the first time. It was the largest cruise ship ever to make its way into the harbor, passing under the Golden Gate Bridge with only 30 feet of clearance. This composite photograph, taken from a cliff at Land’s End in San Francisco’s Lincoln Park, shows the progress of the luxury liner as it progressed through the Gate.
